Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot – Complete Details
Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot is a Hindi horror-comedy mystery web series streaming on JioHotstar. The series puts a supernatural twist on the familiar Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves idea, following a science-minded woman who gets pulled into a mystery involving her missing father, strange statues and 40 ghosts.
Story & Plot
Alisha Nigam believes strongly in logic and science. Her life changes when she returns to a small Central Indian town while searching for her missing archaeologist father, Tapish Nigam. What begins as a search for answers soon leads her into a strange supernatural mystery.
Alisha discovers clues connected to mysterious statues, local legends and a group of restless spirits. She is forced to work with Baba Rao Upadhyay, a goofy and superstitious police officer whose beliefs are very different from her scientific approach. Their unlikely partnership creates the series’ horror-comedy angle as they try to understand the truth behind the 40 ghosts and the unexplained events around them.

Review
Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot has an interesting horror-comedy setup built around folklore, supernatural mysteries and an unlikely investigative pair. Its biggest attraction is the contrast between Alisha’s scientific thinking and Baba’s superstition. The series is best suited to viewers who enjoy Hindi mystery stories with comedy and supernatural elements.
Critics have been mixed on the execution, with reviews pointing to an uneven balance between scares and humour. The concept, however, gives the show a distinctive identity in the Hindi OTT space.
