Eetha Story: What Is the Film About?
Eetha is inspired by the life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, one of Maharashtra’s best-known performers in the traditional folk forms of Lavani and Tamasha. The story follows a woman who rises from humble beginnings to earn recognition through her talent, determination and devotion to the stage.
The film explores the world behind the performances: the discipline of an artist, the demands of public life, social attitudes towards folk performers, relationships, hardships and the struggle to protect one’s identity and dignity. Its narrative spans different phases of Vithabai’s life and celebrates her contribution to Maharashtra’s folk-theatre heritage.
Rather than being a conventional fictional dance film, Eetha is presented as a biographical drama rooted in a real artist’s life. The makers combine period settings, music, dance and emotional storytelling to bring this cultural story to a wider audience.
Eetha Movie Review: Trailer-Based First Impression
Full movie review: Not available yet. Eetha has not reached theatres as of 5 November 2026, so a genuine audience or critic review of the complete film cannot be given at this stage.
Trailer-based impression: The trailer suggests a performance-led biopic with strong cultural detailing, elaborate Lavani sequences and an emotionally intense central character. Shraddha Kapoor’s transformation into Vithabai is the main attraction, while the music by Ajay-Atul and choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant add to the film’s musical identity. The final verdict will depend on the complete screenplay, performances, pacing and how effectively the film presents Vithabai’s life.
