418 Movie Release Date
418 will release worldwide in theatres on 23 October 2026. The film was earlier scheduled for 18 September after a previous delay, but the makers postponed it again to prepare a wider multilingual theatrical rollout. The new October date was announced on 5 October 2026.
The October release places the movie in the Dussehra festive period, giving the horror thriller an opportunity to reach audiences across multiple Indian language markets.
418 Movie Story and Plot
The story is set around a medical college in a village where fear and superstition surround a mysterious building. The VIMS building has remained sealed for 15 years, and the reopening of the property brings the characters face-to-face with unexplained events connected to Room No. 418.
The trailer introduces an 18-year-old youngster named Vivek, who appears to experience strange phenomena and struggles to convince others that what he is sensing is real. People around him question whether he is hallucinating, creating an early psychological layer to the story.
As the sealed building is reopened despite local opposition, the mystery around Room 418 grows. The arrival of Devika, played by Chaithra Achar, pushes the story into darker supernatural territory. The trailer deliberately keeps the central secret hidden, suggesting that the truth behind the room is the film’s biggest mystery.
Why Room No. 418 Is Important
Room No. 418 is the central horror hook of the film. The building has been closed for years, and the decision to reopen it creates a chain of disturbing incidents. The number itself becomes associated with a mystery that neither ordinary explanations nor conventional scientific reasoning appears able to resolve.
The makers are presenting 418 as a story where science, superstition and an unexplained anomaly collide. That setup gives the film both a supernatural dimension and a psychological-thriller angle.

418 Movie Director and Crew
Kirtan Nadagouda has written and directed 418, marking his feature directorial debut. He has previously worked with Prashanth Neel, making Neel’s involvement as presenter an important part of the project’s identity. Prashanth Neel is presenting the film, but he is not the director.
Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar are the producers under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, with Anil Yerneni credited as co-producer. Dinesh Divakaran is the cinematographer, Venky GG has composed the music, Ullas Hydoor is the production designer and Akul Avinash is the editor. Anupam C is credited as sound designer.
418 Trailer
The official trailer campaign has now expanded across languages. The Hindi trailer was released on 5 October 2026, while the original Telugu trailer arrived earlier. The trailer sets up a serious horror story without relying on comic relief.
The trailer introduces Vivek’s disturbing experiences, the VIMS building that has been sealed for 15 years and the mystery surrounding Room 418. Chaithra Achar’s character Devika becomes increasingly important as the story moves from psychological uncertainty towards supernatural horror.
418 Movie Watch OTT Release Date and Platform
As of the latest October 2026 updates, no official OTT platform or digital release date has been announced for 418. The confirmed immediate release plan is theatrical on 23 October 2026. Any platform or streaming date circulating online should be treated as unconfirmed until the producers make an official announcement.
418 Movie Certification and Runtime
The film has received an A certificate, reflecting its mature horror content. Current movie listings report a runtime of roughly 2 hours 28 minutes, while some databases list a slightly longer runtime, so the final theatrical duration may vary by listing or version.
What Makes 418 Movie Different?
The film is being positioned as a serious horror thriller rather than a horror-comedy. Its central concept combines a sealed building, a forbidden room, unexplained phenomena and the tension between science and superstition. The filmmakers have also emphasised fear and suspense instead of using comedy to break the atmosphere.
For Mythri Movie Makers, 418 is also notable as the production banner’s move into the horror genre. The involvement of Prashanth Neel as presenter gives the project additional attention, while Kirtan Nadagouda gets an opportunity to establish himself as a director.
418 Movie Box Office Expectations
Because 418 is releasing across multiple languages during the Dussehra season and carries the Prashanth Neel presentation tag, the film has strong pre-release curiosity. However, box-office performance cannot be predicted reliably before release. Reviews, audience word of mouth, screen count, competition and the effectiveness of the horror experience will ultimately determine its theatrical performance.
Final Verdict Before Release
418 has an intriguing horror setup: a building sealed for 15 years, a mysterious Room No. 418 and a young man whose experiences make everyone question what is real. The multilingual release, A certificate, serious tone and Prashanth Neel’s presentation make it one of the more interesting Indian horror titles to watch in October 2026.
418 releases worldwide on 23 October 2026. The film is currently confirmed for Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi, while reports also list Malayalam among the release languages. The OTT platform and digital premiere date are still awaited officially.
